Johannesburg Water FOREMAN SEWER Job Description:
REMUNERATION: R408 828– R576 264 PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Manage all functions related to the maintenance of the sewer system in order to effectively manage the sewer infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise operational plans to coordinate and optimise the utilisation of the area’s resources for all field work to be undertaken. Ensure that correct materials and resources are available for scheduled operations on a daily basis. Ensure that works orders and defects are
prioritised and executed for repairs and maintenance. Investigate and report on industrial effluent compliance issues. Update plans of sewer reticulation and forward to the Operational Manager for correction. On an Ad hoc basis, initiate works orders for executing of jobs. Supervise and control personnel according to policies and procedures. Liaise with contractors, other departments and utilities. Liaise with customers, members of public and councillors on sewer related issues. Ensure that the productivity levels and costs are kept within estimates and targets by supervising and controlling standby, overtime leave and absenteeism in his / her section. Supervise activities to ensure that it is within the budget provision. Ensure all operations are carried out within statutory requirements as laid down in the OHSA. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance to the safety procedures. Complete and update safety registers under his / her control.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Grade 12 or N3 (NQF4) + Plumbing trade test certificate/Appropriate Learnership NQF 4
* 4 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of sewer reticulation of which 1 year must be at a supervisory level.
* Code EB driver’s license
