COJ Records Officer Job Description:


Department: Citizen Relationship and Urban Management
Branch: Administration
Designation: Records Officer
Salary: R22 215.52 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
 Grade 12 and a relevant Diploma (NQF level 6) is required;
 1 – 2 years’ work related experience in respect of filing/retrieval processes and Archive
Management;
 Skills required: computer literate (MS Word and Excel), communication (verbal and written) office
administration, attention to detail; and
 Knowledge of Archive Act; committee systems and decisions recording processes.
Primary Function: To ensure that adequate and effective record keeping services are maintained in
terms of the National Archives Act.
Key Performance Areas: Establish, implement and maintain an efficient and effective document
management system. Provide an efficient and effective maintenance service of the daily general
administration functions.
Leading Competencies: Collaborative/Teamwork & Accountability.
Core Competencies: Customer and Service Delivery Management (Batho Pele) Ethics, Integrity
and Professionalism, Impact and Influence and Confidentiality.
